Posted on September 27, 2007 at 1:44 pmI have just posted a new blog entry over at Year of the Code Monkey, detailing the new extension development changes coming in Firefox 3. There are some potential heavy hitting items coming down the pipeline, so be sure to check out the post.
Where’s Jonah?
Posted on September 8, 2007 at 4:44 pmVisitors to this website may wonder where I’ve wandered off to, due to the lack of updates. These days, I put way more effort into my blog, Year of the Code Monkey. Be sure to stop by and join in the discussions, and take some time to browse through my photo albums.
Accessible Link Changes
Posted on July 12, 2007 at 9:28 pmAs I recently mentioned on my blog, the way I was handling the “skip to main content” links on this site wasn’t as accessible as I had originally thought. I have fixed this issue, and hopefully things will be much better. Please let me know if anything looks odd or out of place.
Googlebar Lite 4.6.3
Posted on June 27, 2007 at 7:28 pmYet another new release of Googlebar Lite is available. Two regressions surfaced from changes that were made in 4.6.2. Here’s the change log:
- Bug Fix: An uncaught exception in the new URL parsing logic (added in 4.6.2) was causing the URL bar in Firefox to act incorrectly when a new tab was opened.
- Bug Fix: The new URL parsing was too strict. Because of this, search terms were not being updated appropriately on non-web searches (image searches, group searches, etc.).
Googlebar Lite 4.6.2
Posted on June 24, 2007 at 9:49 amA new release of Googlebar Lite is now available. Changes in this release:
- The "Google GMail" option in the Googlebar Lite main menu now points to the secure https:// address.
- Bug Fix: Searching country-specific pages often caused search terms to become corrupted in the Googlebar Lite search box. The URL parsing logic has been rewritten and should now work as expected.
- Bug Fix: Some translational errors in the Dutch (nl-NL) locale have been fixed.
Googlebar Lite 4.6.1
Posted on June 9, 2007 at 9:14 amA small update to Googlebar Lite has been posted. This release fixes two bugs:
- Bug Fix: Highlighting on pages that contained frames did not work as expected.
- Bug Fix: Strict JavaScript parsing error.
CoLT 2.3.0 Now Available
Posted on May 18, 2007 at 7:23 pmA brand new version of CoLT is now available for your downloading pleasure. This new release adds some exciting new features:
- CoLT now supports an unlimited number of custom formats for the ‘Copy Link Text and Location’ action.
- When only one format is available for the ‘Copy Link Text and Location’ action, it appears as a menu item, rather than an item in a sub-menu.
- Custom menu separators can now be added to the ‘Copy Link Text and Location’ sub-menu.
- Added a new Czech (cs-CZ) translation.
- Added a new Korean (ko-KR) translation.
- Added a new Lithuanian (lt-LT) translation.
- Added a new Chinese Simplified (zh-CN) translation.
You will note that I have migrated to a 3-digit versioning scheme (2.3.0). I intend to use this format from here on out for all Firefox extensions that I develop. This should help prevent an inflated version number, as has been the case with Googlebar Lite.
Paper Plus 9.3 Released
Posted on March 17, 2007 at 8:00 pmA brand new build of Paper Plus is now available, fixing the crash that I recently came across. Be sure to update to the latest version!
Paper Plus Bug
Posted on March 15, 2007 at 8:26 amI just recently came across a crash in the latest release of Paper Plus. The issue crops up in the random wallpaper selection routine, so I’m not quite sure why I didn’t find this problem sooner (seeing as I use that functionality all the time).
A new release will be available in the coming day or two to correct this problem. As always, if you find other problems, please let me know. Thanks!
Search Fixed
Posted on March 2, 2007 at 3:32 pmWhen I upgraded this site to Movable Type 3.34, I broke the FastSearch plugin (which gets used to power the site search here at Born Geek). Things should now be working again, but if you spot any more errors, please let me know about it. Thanks!
